Admixture Pharmacy Technician (PRN)

About the role

The Admixture Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacy team by preparing sterile compounded medications, including hazardous agents, in a cleanroom environment. This PRN position works day shifts and operates under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or physician.

Key responsibilities

• Compound sterile and hazardous medications following USP standards and SOPs.
• Maintain cleanroom suite, garbing, and ISO‑classified environment.
• Document IV admixture preparations, sterility tests, and cleanroom monitoring.
• Prepare, label, and package compounded products for delivery.
• Manage inventory, track expiration dates, and order supplies as needed.
• Complete required paperwork, including logs, labels, and reports.
• Perform additional duties to meet department and patient needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years pharmacy experience, with at least 1 year in sterile compounding or aseptic processing.
• Illinois pharmacy technician licensure in good standing.
• Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (preferred).
• Experience with hazardous medication handling (preferred).
• Familiarity with EPIC, Nucleus, or Pyxis systems (preferred).
