Oncology Site RN

About the role

The Oncology Site RN provides direct nursing care and serves as the primary liaison between physicians, advanced practice providers, and the clinical team in an oncology clinic. Working under the direction of site physicians, the practice manager, and the clinical oncology supervisor, the RN ensures continuity and quality of patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize Epic Hyperspace and MyChart to manage patient flow, complete forms, and process prior authorizations.
• Monitor and triage in‑basket messages, respond to MyChart patient inquiries, and handle prescription refill requests.
• Coordinate referrals to dieticians, physical therapy, social work, home care, hospice, and durable medical equipment.
• Manage patients on oral oncology agents such as Pomalyst and Revlimid, including education, authorization, and refill processes.
• Assist pharmacy with oral oncolytic paperwork and support peer‑to‑peer reviews with physicians and insurers.
• Reschedule appointments, support coverage needs, and provide assistance to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Required profile

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Illinois, adhering to the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
• Experience in oncology or related specialty preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic Hyperspace electronic health record system.
• Familiarity with MyChart patient portal.
