About the role

Midvaal Local Municipality is recruiting an Admin Clerk: Fire for its Fire & Rescue Section in Meyerton, Gauteng. It is an administrative position open to candidates with Grade 12 and 1-2 years of relevant local government administration or data-capturing experience. The annual salary is R251,700-R281,352, with a total package of R413,755.04 including benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Fire & Rescue Section
• Maintain confidential filing systems
• Capture fire incidents and compile response-time reports
• Record staff overtime and attendance deviations
• Administer leave records
• Take minutes at FPA and CFO meetings
• Organise departmental functions and perform general administrative duties

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Computer literacy certificate
• 1-2 years' relevant administration or data-capturing experience in local government
• Strong communication and administrative skills, good organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Advantageous: valid driver's licence, secretarial and diary-management experience, minute-taking and report-writing skills
