Actuarial Specialist

About the role

Join a leading healthcare organisation as an Actuarial Specialist, working on pricing, product development and strategic analysis. You will be part of a client‑facing team that shapes innovative healthcare solutions through rigorous actuarial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review pricing models for new and existing healthcare products.
• Contribute to product design and benefit structuring based on actuarial analysis.
• Perform forecasting, budgeting and scenario testing to support strategic decisions.
• Present insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Use SQL and R to extract, manipulate and analyse complex healthcare datasets.
• Support regulatory reporting and help shape market‑aligned, sustainable solutions.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of actuarial experience with a focus on healthcare.
• Minimum of six actuarial exams passed.
• Relevant actuarial qualification (undergraduate or honours degree).
• Based in Johannesburg, Cape Town or the surrounding area.

Required skills

• SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• R for statistical analysis and modelling.
