Actuarial Assistant Manager: Expenses

About the role

MiWay’s Actuarial department is building a dedicated expense function that combines scientific expense pricing, reporting and ad‑hoc investigations. As an Actuarial Assistant Manager – Expenses you will work closely with multiple stakeholders to analyse how money is spent and feed those insights into premium pricing.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse company expenses to provide management insights and recommend initiatives to reduce the expense ratio.
• Model expenses to support office premium pricing decisions.
• Produce and automate monthly expense reports.
• Lead a small team of expense actuarial analysts, managing priorities, workload and reviewing changes.
• Conduct ad‑hoc investigations into expense matters and communicate findings to business partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a related actuarial or analytical field, including at least 1 year in expense analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Pure/Applied Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to manage change, assess risk and drive results in a fast‑moving environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL Server or Oracle databases.
• Programming experience with Python.
• Programming experience with R.
• Strong analytical and data‑modeling capabilities.
