Accounts Officer: Cashbooks & Asset Register

About the role

Komatsu South Africa is looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Officer to manage cashbooks, process EFT payments and administer the fixed asset register. The role supports the Finance team by ensuring accurate financial records, compliance and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger and bank accounts, monitor cash flow and clear reconciled items.
• Process EFT payments, verify source documents, load payments onto banking platforms and provide proof of payment.
• Administer the fixed asset register, handle additions, transfers, disposals and reconcile asset‑related balance‑sheet accounts.
• Analyse provisions, accruals and expense accounts, and support VAT allocations and reporting.
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve payment and asset‑related queries.

Required profile

• 3‑Year Diploma in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience, including cashbook management, accounts payable and fixed‑asset administration.
• Knowledge of SAP General Ledger and Asset Register modules, VAT legislation and SOX/JSOX compliance.
