Accounts Controller

About the role

Mediclinic Medforum in Sunnyside, Pretoria is hiring one permanent, on-site Accounts Controller. The main purpose of the role is to optimise revenue by ensuring that an accurate account is generated for each patient and that the patient file contains all the relevant supporting documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Bill all charted items accurately and on time.
• Complete all patient files so they contain all documents and a final billed account.
• Use and control applicable reports to ensure accounts are finalised and rendered promptly.
• Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication with other departments.

Required profile

• Essential education: Grade 12.
• No minimum experience required; previous experience as an Accounts Controller and experience in a healthcare environment are desired.
• Preference will be given according to the Employment Equity Plan, as well as to internal applicants who meet the minimum requirements.

Required skills

• Debtors and creditors work, including invoicing and reconciliation.
• Medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy (extremities).
• Understanding of medical aid tariff agreements (e.g. CPP).
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with patient administration policies, procedures and systems such as AS400.
• Knowledge of billing protocols, government gazette, final billing, render, EDI and DRG processes.
