Accounting Manager

About the role

A global manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead financial control, reporting excellence and business integration within a complex production environment. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the incumbent will own financial accounting, statutory compliance, reporting, controls, tax management and business partnering while supporting organisational decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial close processes.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with group accounting standards and internal controls.
• Drive compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, banking relationships and treasury‑related activities.
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls and risk‑management practices.
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to support informed business decisions.
• Support business integration initiatives and continuous process improvement.
• Lead and develop a small finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Relevant Finance, Accounting or Commerce degree (Honours preferred).
• Professional accounting accreditation (CA(SA), ACCA, CGMA/CIMA or Professional Accountant (SA)) – non‑negotiable.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive finance experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
• Exposure to multinational organisations and group reporting structures.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting standards, tax and compliance requirements.
• Proven people‑leadership experience.
• Ability to operate effectively in a changing business environment.
