Accountant – Mill Operations

About the role

The role serves as a key financial partner within a leading food production and milling enterprise, bridging production, supply chain, and financial governance. Reporting to the Financial Manager, the Accountant – Mill Operations will handle daily reconciliations, inventory control, and financial reporting for the Bellville mill.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily sales reconciliations, weighbridge validation and inter‑mill inventory transactions in SAP ERP.
• Coordinate physical fixed‑asset verifications, capex administration and monthly stock counts (mandatory on the 1st of each month at 06:00 AM).
• Prepare weekly performance reports, monthly management accounts, variance analysis and contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting.
• Act as finance team lead in the Financial Manager’s absence, ensuring internal controls and supporting internal/external audits.

Required profile

• B.Com or equivalent degree in Accounting/Finance (Grade 12 required).
• Minimum 5 years operational accounting experience, with 3‑5 years in manufacturing or food production.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP ERP.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, cost/management accounting and inventory control.
• Advanced MS Excel for financial modelling and data reconciliation.
