Accountant

About the role

SKEGSKEG is looking for a capable and detail‑oriented Accountant to own the finance function across its operating entities. Reporting directly to the executive team, you will manage the full accounting cycle, payroll administration, statutory compliance and management reporting while working closely with operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts, financial reports and annual financial statements.
• Manage debtors, creditors, cash flow and financial controls.
• Process payroll and maintain employee payroll records.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and tax obligations (VAT, PAYE, UIF, COIDA, provisional tax).
• Support financial planning, operational reporting and business decision‑making.
• Assist with selected HR administration and employee records.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting (or equivalent).
• 3–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably in an SME environment.
• Strong Sage Evolution and Pastel Payroll experience.
• Sound understanding of VAT, PAYE, UIF, COIDA and provisional tax.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and commercially minded.
