Accountant – Full‑time, On‑site (Cape Town)

About the role

The Hyde Hotel in Cape Town is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Accountant to manage its financial operations. You will work closely with the management team to ensure accurate bookkeeping and provide insights that support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and perform daily bookkeeping.
• Prepare financial statements and reconcile accounts.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
• Contribute to budget preparation and monitor expenditures.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with management to deliver financial insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting and account reconciliation.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving, time‑management and communication abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• Previous experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
