Accountant – Full‑time Finance Role

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our finance team in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. You will own the full accounting function, ensuring accurate cash management, payments and reconciliations. Key responsibilities

• Review, reconcile and distribute balances for all bank accounts.
• Share bank statements with relevant branches and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate payment records and update internal tracking schedules.
• Capture payment data, upload batches into the accounting system and match payments to ledger entries.
• Process invoices (including freight) and retain supporting documentation.
• Execute daily supplier payments, transfers and urgent payments within cut‑off times.
• Create new suppliers as required and notify stakeholders after payments.
• Handle overseas payments and track foreign transactions in USD, GBP and EUR.
• Perform bank, supplier and account reconciliations.
• Prepare cash reports, manage documentation and complete credit applications.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar accounting position.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Matric qualification; SAIPA articles or a tertiary degree is beneficial.
