Accountant – Financial Services (Cape Town)

About the role

The dynamic financial services provider is looking for an experienced Accountant (CPT) to ensure accurate control and processing of financial information. You will be responsible for preparing reports, managing payments, and supporting compliance functions while meeting service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and control internal financial management processes, ensuring timely capture and reporting of transactions.
• Prepare and review payments, securing appropriate documentation and authorisation.
• Perform bank reconciliations, manage account balances, and resolve outstanding receipt/payment queries.
• Process payroll transactions and address related inquiries.
• Assist with VAT and income tax calculations and returns.
• Compile monthly, quarterly and year‑end reconciliations and support audit activities.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies within accounting functions, escalating when necessary.
• Contribute to system and process enhancements to improve financial management.

Required profile

• Degree in Financial Management or Accounting.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience (not articles only).
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
