Accountant – Annual Financial Statements & Reviews

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to take clients from trial balance through to a completed set of annual financial statements. The role involves compilation work across companies, trusts, NGOs and occasional independent reviews, reporting to the Audit and Tax Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Compile annual financial statements in line with IFRS for SMEs and ISRS 4410.
• Prepare year‑end journals, current tax and deferred tax computations.
• Reconcile all balance‑sheet items and resolve client queries.
• Perform and document independent review engagements under ISRE 2400.
• Assist Senior Clerks on audit engagements during peak periods.
• Manage day‑to‑day client relationships, time and job budgets.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience in an accounting or auditing practice.
• BCom in Accounting (NQF level 6) or equivalent; SAIPA/SAICA training contract advantageous.
• Proven experience compiling full annual financial statements, not just trial balances.
• Working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and ability to perform ISRE 2400 reviews.
• South African citizenship, permanent residence or valid work permit and own reliable transport.
