Academic Administrative Systems Specialist

About the role

The University of Mpumalanga is looking for an Academic Administrative Systems Specialist to assist the Deputy Registrar Academic Administration in running student administration systems efficiently at institutional level. The role ensures the efficient operation, integration and enhancement of student systems while leading innovation projects that drive institutional effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and innovate student systems, including student systems management and innovation
• Handle academic administration and records management
• Optimize processes
• Engage stakeholders and provide client support
• Implement compliance and policy
• Perform other duties delegated by the line manager

Required profile

• M+4 (Honours) degree in Information Systems, ICT, Data Science or a related field
• At least seven years of relevant work experience, including at least three years in information systems, systems support or business process support within higher education or a similar environment
• Experience in data analytics, process optimization and system integration is an added advantage
• Advanced knowledge of the student ITS system and HEDA/JASPER (or equivalents) is an added advantage
• Experience in process mapping
