Windows Server Engineer (On-site, Cape Town)

About the role

We are looking for a Windows Server Engineer to join our on‑site team in Cape Town. The role focuses on designing, implementing and maintaining Microsoft‑based infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Azure AD, Microsoft 365 and hybrid networking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and manage Azure AD, Azure AD Connect, application registration and SSO integrations.
• Implement password hash and pass‑through authentication, Windows Virtual Desktop, VPN and ExpressRoute.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services including MAM, MDM, Teams and Intune.
• Manage Microsoft Active Directory, user/device policies, Group Policy and perform Windows upgrades and security hardening.
• Maintain networking fundamentals such as subnetting and VLANs.
• Configure Zscaler, Fortinet SASE/FortiSASE, SD‑WAN and Zero Trust architectures.
• Deploy and manage Netskope policies for users and devices.
• Handle backup solutions using Dell EMC Networker and Backup Exec, and oversee restoration processes.
• Monitor security using Microsoft Purview, Defender and Cisco tools.
• Support Nutanix hyper‑converged infrastructure (Acropolis AOS, Prism) and perform performance tuning.
• Conduct event‑log analysis, BCM client management, Helix patching, remote support, discovery and monitoring.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Azure AD, Azure AD Connect and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong background in Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (subnetting, VLAN) and security platforms such as Zscaler, Fortinet SASE and Netskope.
• Experience with backup and disaster‑recovery tools (Dell EMC Networker, Backup Exec).
• Ability to troubleshoot hybrid cloud and on‑premise integrations.
