Warehouse Operator – Distribution Centre

About the role

homechoice is seeking a Warehouse Operator to support accurate and timely execution of tasks within its Blackheath Distribution Centre. The role involves handling inbound stock, order picking, packing and maintaining a safe, organised warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving and off‑loading inbound deliveries, palletising and labelling stock.
• Moving palletised stock between receiving bays, staging areas and inventory locations.
• Executing stock movements, bin‑to‑bin transfers and cycle counts using warehouse scanners and the WMS.
• Picking internal and customer orders accurately and preparing them for dispatch.
• Operating conveyor systems and related machinery to support order processing.
• Packing orders to meet quality standards and distribution targets.
• Performing ad‑hoc tasks such as pallet repairs, labelling and general housekeeping.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric (NQF 4) minimum.
• 2–5 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution centre.
• Valid unendorsed driver’s licence and reliable transport to Blackheath DC.
• Medical fitness for physical warehouse work and ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Clear criminal and credit record.

Required skills

• Proficiency with warehouse scanners and warehouse management systems.
• Ability to operate conveyor systems and related material‑handling equipment.
