Key responsibilities

  • Handle first‑line technical queries across the full product range, reproduce issues in‑lab and own tickets through to resolution.
  • Develop and maintain a customer support forum with integrated ticketing, FAQ and knowledge‑base sections, and migrate existing users from Slack.
  • Lead onboarding sessions, prepare welcome packs, training material and keep accurate records of hardware configurations.
  • Write and update user documentation, integration guides and release notes, and feed support trends back to product owners.

Required profile

  • South African citizenship or valid work permit.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and strong organisational abilities.
  • Willingness to work occasional outside‑office hours and travel internationally as needed.

Required skills

  • Understanding of RF and digital communication fundamentals (link budgets, modulation, coding, EIRP, S‑band, X‑band, Ka‑band).
  • Ability to read schematics, interface control documents and telemetry logs.
  • Practical lab experience with spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector signal analyzers and power meters.
  • Proficiency with version‑control and collaboration tools (Git, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Markdown).
  • Basic knowledge of FPGA firmware and embedded C.
  • Familiarity with satellite communication standards (DVB‑S2, CCSDS) and spacecraft interfaces (UART, RS‑422, RS‑485, I2C, SPI, CAN, LVDS, SERDES, Spacewire, Ethernet).
  • Scripting in Python for log analysis and test automation.
  • Knowledge of ground‑station software and orbital basics (GNU Radio, SatNOGS, Gpredict, TLEs).
