Supply Chain Officer – Procurement & Supplier Management

About the role

The Supply Chain Officer will manage the full procurement cycle for a network of civil‑society organisations, ensuring compliance with donor rules and South African legislation. You will support value‑for‑money sourcing, supplier relationships and internal audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑to‑end procurement: needs assessment, market research, RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluation, purchase orders and contracting.
• Maintain procurement records, tender registers and monthly reporting.
• Manage supplier onboarding, compliance checks (risk, tax, B‑BBEE, conflict of interest) and database updates.
• Support contract negotiations, pricing and terms for goods, services and consultants.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders on procurement policies and assist with purchase request completion.
• Collaborate with Finance, Programme, M&E and Grants teams on budgeting, forecasts and donor reporting.
• Assist internal and external audits and implement recommendations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in NGOs, pharmaceuticals or the public sector.
• Knowledge of South African procurement legislation (POPIA, B‑BBEE, PAJA, PAIA).
• Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Level 4/5 certification is an advantage.
