Service Technician

About the role

Rock Processing is seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Service Technician to join its Service team in the Northern Cape. Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and customer support of screening and feeding equipment across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly services on equipment as defined in service level agreements or purchase orders.
• Inspect equipment, report condition to end‑users and internal technical/management teams.
• Provide on‑site technical support, fault diagnosis and breakdown assistance.
• Complete and sign off job cards to enable accurate invoicing.
• Prepare detailed inspection and repair reports for follow‑up planning.
• Plan work tasks, ensure required spares and consumables are ordered in time.
• Maintain compliance with Sandvik standards and industry safety guidelines.
• Support and develop fitter assistants to improve service delivery.
• Travel to customer sites as needed, including taking measurements.

Required profile

• Completed trade test as a fitter.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass a mine health and screening process.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic understanding of vibrating equipment.
