Senior RPG/AS400 Developer – Marketing IT Team

About the role

We are seeking a Senior RPG/AS400 Developer to join the Marketing Team within our IT Department. You will be responsible for analysing system requirements, designing technical specifications, and delivering new functionality that supports our retail and loyalty initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform system analysis and write detailed technical specifications.
• Develop, test, and maintain AS/400/RPG applications according to business needs.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for existing applications.
• Coach junior developers to ensure adherence to coding standards and development processes.
• Plan and execute unit testing, system integration testing, and archive test results.
• Produce system/functional documentation, operation manuals, and technical designs.
• Collaborate with Systems Analysts and participate in peer code reviews.
• Stay current with industry standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in a relevant technical or business field.
• Minimum 5 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in system analysis and design.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Experience in retail or loyalty environments is preferred.
• Excellent problem‑solving and documentation skills.

Required skills

• AS/400 and RPG programming (essential).
• Strong SQL/SQL Server knowledge.
• Object‑oriented programming concepts.
• C# (advantage).
• SharePoint (advantage).
• Unit testing and system integration testing.
