Senior Practice Accountant – Remote (South Africa)

About the role

Join a well‑established UK accountancy practice as a Senior Practice Accountant, working fully remotely from South Africa. You will manage an international client portfolio, advise SME boards, and deepen your expertise in UK accounting and tax.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee a dedicated portfolio of limited companies and sole proprietors, handling all end‑to‑end accounting functions.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting working papers in line with UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Gather, analyse, and present financial data to support UK tax computations.
• Review client bookkeeping in Xero, post complex journal entries, and complete balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Train clients on effective Xero usage and improve internal accounting processes.
• Produce ad‑hoc financial reports and advisory presentations for senior leadership and international group structures.
• Drive internal initiatives to implement new accounting systems and enhance practice efficiencies.

Required profile

• Qualified CA(SA), SAIPA, or CIMA with 5–10 years of end‑to‑end accounting experience.
• Strong experience preparing financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS.
• Proven ability to independently manage a client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
• Advanced proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office.
• Experience presenting financial information and advising boards or senior leadership.

What we offer
