Senior Manager Research Analyst (Investment)

About the role

This senior position leads the firm’s manager research and multi‑manager portfolio construction. Working hybrid (three days in the office), the successful candidate will own research across the asset‑manager universe and contribute directly to investment decisions, with a clear path toward a Chief Investment Officer role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead qualitative and quantitative research on balanced, equity, fixed‑income and alternative managers.
• Produce high‑quality manager research reports covering philosophy, mandate, performance, peer comparison and risks.
• Conduct manager due‑diligence, meetings and ongoing monitoring, flagging key‑person risk, style drift and performance issues.
• Maintain and justify manager rating recommendations within a scoring framework.
• Contribute to multi‑manager portfolio construction, monitor positioning against mandates and benchmarks, and support rebalancing decisions.
• Develop and maintain portfolio models using Morningstar Direct and related analytics tools.
• Present manager reviews and portfolio analysis to the Investment Committee and prepare institutional‑grade client deliverables.
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior analysts and interns, raising research quality across the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, Mathematics or a related field.
• 6‑8 years of relevant investment experience with a strong track record in manager research or multi‑manager portfolio management.

Required skills

• Morningstar Direct (or comparable portfolio analytics platform).
