Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor will lead and deliver complex, risk‑based internal audit engagements across the organisation. This role provides independent assurance on governance, risk management and control effectiveness, contributing to stronger institutional performance and safeguarding development finance assets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report on high‑impact internal audit projects covering financial, operational and compliance areas.
• Assess the effectiveness of governance structures, risk management frameworks and internal controls.
• Identify improvement opportunities and provide strategic recommendations beyond basic compliance.
• Collaborate with senior management to align audit findings with regulatory, fiduciary and developmental mandates.
• Maintain professional independence and exercise sound judgement throughout the audit lifecycle.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit, preferably within development finance or similar sectors.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk management and control environments.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver high‑quality insights to senior stakeholders.
