Senior Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Senior Human Resources Officer reports to the Regional HR Manager and leads the disciplinary and recruitment functions across the region. The role ensures compliance with South African labour legislation, the company’s code of conduct, and internal policies while supporting line management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all disciplinary processes, conduct hearings, and maintain accurate dockets.
• Represent the company in CCMA, bargaining council, and Labour Court disputes.
• Provide industrial‑relations training and advice to line managers.
• Maintain a register of CCMA, discipline, and Labour Court cases.
• Collaborate with regional management to identify recruitment needs and approve requisitions.
• Execute end‑to‑end recruitment for E2 and below roles, including advertising, screening, interviewing, and vetting.
• Build talent pipelines for critical positions and liaise with DOL and community centres.
• Compile and report HR statistics and trends to senior management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in industrial relations and disciplinary matters.
• Strong knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, CCMA procedures, and collective agreements.
• Proven ability to represent an organisation in dismissal disputes.
• Excellent communication skills for advising line management and unions.
• Ability to manage multiple HR cases within SLA timeframes.
