Senior Back-End Developer (Java & AWS) – Gauteng/Hybrid

About the role

Our client is seeking a Senior Back‑End Developer to join the core Software Engineering team of an e‑mobility platform, delivering intelligent and bidirectional charging solutions. The role involves designing, developing, deploying and operating cloud‑native distributed systems on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and operate production‑ready distributed services and APIs for e‑mobility and smart charging platforms.
• Monitor applications, implement cloud‑security patterns, resolve production issues and ensure 24/7 availability.
• Build comprehensive automated unit, integration and end‑to‑end test suites; maintain infrastructure provisioning via Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Adhere to code compliance standards, maintain ISO‑standard technical documentation and mentor team members within Agile ceremonies.

Required profile

• 10+ years of production backend development experience using Java (preferred), Python or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Proven track record designing, developing and operating cloud‑native distributed systems on AWS.
• Relevant IT degree or equivalent practical experience.
• AWS certification (Developer Associate minimum; Professional preferred).
