Professor of Industrial Psychology (Full‑time, Permanent)

About the role

The University of the Western Cape seeks a senior academic leader to join its Department of Industrial Psychology. This permanent, full‑time professorship involves teaching, research, supervision and community engagement within a vibrant, diverse university environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Industrial Psychology and Human Resources Management.
• Conduct high‑quality research and publish peer‑reviewed work in the field.
• Supervise Masters and PhD candidates, ensuring successful completion of their studies.
• Provide academic leadership, curriculum development and assessment.
• Engage with community partners and contribute to societal impact through outreach activities.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Industrial Psychology, HRM or Organisational Psychology.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications and successful research grant acquisition.
• Experience supervising postgraduate research (Masters and PhD).
• National or international standing in the discipline, with evidence of community‑engaged scholarship.
