Packaging Operator – FMCG Production

About the role

The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining packaging equipment in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment. You will work on a shift schedule to ensure that production plans are executed efficiently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manual and automatic packaging machines according to standard operating procedures.
• Interpret and implement the production plan for each shift.
• Monitor process performance, track key indicators (PIMS & POMS) and take corrective action on negative trends.
• Perform administrative tasks such as process tracking, reporting and contributing to AB reports.
• Use OFR triggers as required and ensure a safe, healthy work environment.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification; post‑matric or equivalent (e.g., N4) or National Diploma.
• Added advantage: IOB Certificate.
• At least 9 months on‑the‑job training with completion of SKAP within 12 months.
• Experience in a packaging hall within the FMCG industry.
