Operations Executive – Durban

About the role

The Operations Executive will coordinate end‑to‑end logistics activities for sea, road and cross‑border shipments. You will ensure cargo moves efficiently, documentation is accurate, and stakeholders are kept informed to support high customer service standards and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate shipment processes across sea, road and intermodal modes, aligning cargo movement with schedules, bookings and delivery requirements.
• Liaise with shipping lines, arrange transport for port and long‑haul movements, and monitor vessel activity, port operations and container usage.
• Manage import/export customs clearance with agents, ensuring compliance with SARS regulations and port procedures.
• Prepare and verify shipment documentation, maintain records in CargoWare and internal systems, and handle vendor pricing requests.
• Provide proactive shipment updates to customers, resolve queries and escalations, and build relationships with transporters and service providers.

Required profile

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping or cross‑border transport operations.
• Hands‑on experience with sea freight coordination and transport planning.
• Knowledge of import/export customs procedures and documentation.
• Experience working with shipping lines, transporters and clearing agents.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
