About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Managing Director to lead and scale a niche recruitment business with ambitious growth plans. The role works closely with the founder to expand operations, strengthen market positioning, and drive revenue growth toward a future acquisition or buy‑out.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead strategic growth and operational scaling of the recruitment business.
  • Develop and execute an international expansion strategy in targeted markets.
  • Build, lead, and inspire high‑performing recruitment and operational teams.
  • Identify market opportunities and drive revenue growth through innovative business development initiatives.
  • Optimise recruitment delivery processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Strengthen client relationships and secure long‑term partnerships with key accounts.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability targets.
  • Prepare the business for a structured buy‑out or ownership transition.
  • Collaborate with ownership on strategic decision‑making and represent the company professionally.

Required profile

  • Proven experience scaling a business, preferably within recruitment, staffing, or professional services.
  • Demonstrated success managing international business expansion.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving revenue growth and profitability.
  • Leadership experience at Director, Managing Director, or C‑suite level.
  • Experience preparing businesses for investment, acquisition, or buy‑out structures is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with a personable leadership style.
  • Must hold a British or EU passport and be willing to relocate (relocation costs covered).
