Junior Fund Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Fund Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg. The role focuses on maintaining accurate fund‑related records, performing reconciliations, and supporting month‑end financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reconciliations between operational and financial systems, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare month‑end journals, accruals, provisions and other fund‑related accounting entries.
• Analyse fund transactions, identify trends or anomalies and provide actionable insights.
• Calculate monthly profit and loss for terminated plans.
• Maintain data integrity through validation and error investigation.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Business Intelligence, Policy Administration, Creditors and Debtors teams.
• Prepare management accounts, joint‑venture calculations and ensure accurate payout processing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience handling large data volumes in a high‑performance environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with financial systems and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
