Junior Fleet Controller – Logistics

About the role

Our client, a leading logistics provider, is seeking a Junior Fleet Controller to join their fast‑paced transport team in Pretoria. You will be responsible for monitoring truck movements, coordinating driver schedules, and ensuring efficient delivery operations across rotational shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and track truck and driver movements using Soloplan or similar fleet management systems.
• Update planned loads and provide drivers with loading instructions and real‑time updates.
• Manage proof‑of‑delivery documents and other transport paperwork.
• Track diesel consumption and driver efficiency, reporting any discrepancies.
• Liaise with clients regarding deliveries, delays, and status updates.
• Oversee driver attendance, time‑off schedules, and maintain accurate records.
• Report and follow up on vehicle breakdowns and operational issues.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Fleet Controller in freight or logistics.
• Experience with side‑tipper trucks; mining industry exposure is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Experience with fleet management systems such as Soloplan.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from R15 000 to R25 000, dependent on experience.
