Junior Draftsman – 2D/3D CAD (Gauteng)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Draftsman to join our engineering team in the Gauteng region. The role focuses on producing accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using industry‑standard CAD software, supporting engineers and architects in the design and manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings from specifications and calculations.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to gather product and structural requirements.
• Calculate dimensions, weight limits and material requirements.
• Communicate with team members to ensure timelines are met.
• Prepare drafting plans and models for production.
• Verify that final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.

Required profile

• National Diploma (N6) or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related engineering field.
• Ability to interpret technical information and engineering sketches.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SolidEdge).
• Experience with 2D and 3D technical drawing.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) – advantageous.
• Familiarity with 3D modelling software – advantageous.
• Understanding of fabrication or manufacturing processes – advantageous.
