Junior Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

OryxAlign is seeking a motivated Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join its managed‑services security team. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience protecting both internal and client environments, working alongside senior analysts and engineers in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security tools such as SIEM, EDR, antivirus and email security platforms for suspicious activity.
• Investigate and triage alerts, escalating incidents when necessary.
• Support incident response tasks including documentation, containment and remediation.
• Assist with vulnerability scanning, reporting and remediation tracking.
• Help maintain and improve security policies, procedures and standards.
• Participate in user‑awareness initiatives like phishing simulations and security training.
• Perform identity and access management duties, including access reviews and account administration.
• Analyse logs and system events to detect potential threats or anomalies.
• Support compliance and audit activities as required.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Awareness of common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, ransomware and social engineering.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow documented processes and keep accurate records.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Genuine interest in cyber security and technology.
