Internal Auditor (Operations / Technical) – Oil & Gas

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join the Internal Audit department of a leading Oil & Gas company. The role focuses on operational and technical audits, applying risk‑based methodologies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit assignments in line with the approved audit plan.
• Assess operational and technical internal control systems across the organization.
• Identify risks, develop findings and recommend preventive or corrective actions.
• Support the creation of risk‑based internal audit plans.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, findings and management recommendations.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders to facilitate audit execution and follow‑up activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of internal audit experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Experience conducting operational/technical and risk‑based audits.
• Familiarity with IPPF standards, internal controls, compliance and risk assessment processes.
• Professional certifications such as CA, CIA, CPA or ACCA are an advantage.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Oracle EBS and SAP.
• Advanced MS Excel and reporting capabilities.
• Understanding of internal audit methodologies and risk‑based audit techniques.
