Senior Practice Accountant – Remote (South Africa)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Practice Accountant to work remotely from South Africa for an established Irish accounting practice. You will own year‑end account files from trial balance through to draft sign‑off, collaborating directly with the practice founder and a growing team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end statutory accounts to draft sign‑off level.
• Draft Corporation Tax computations and returns.
• Handle CRO filings, including B1 annual returns and abridged statutory accounts.
• Prepare personal income tax returns for company directors.
• Conduct VAT review as part of accounts preparation.
• Manage a portfolio of senior client files, meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
• Participate in an 8‑week training on the Irish accounting framework.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in an accounting practice (not industry).
• Proven ownership of files from trial balance to draft sign‑off.
• Qualified or finalist of ACCA, ACA, CA(SA), CIMA, or SAIPA.
• Strong written and verbal English for daily video calls with Irish clients.
• Fully self‑managing in a remote environment.
• Stable career history; UK or Irish year‑end experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero or equivalent cloud platforms such as Sage or QuickBooks.
