Griller – Portuguese Restaurant (Green Point, Cape Town)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Griller to join the kitchen team of an established Portuguese restaurant in Green Point, Cape Town. The role is hands‑on, focused on delivering consistent, high‑quality flame‑grilled dishes during service.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and manage the grill station throughout service.
• Prepare and cook meat, chicken, and seafood to order, ensuring consistent results.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to minimise waste and maintain quality.
• Maintain a clean and organised grill station at all times.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist with prep work and mise en place before service.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen colleagues to ensure smooth flow during peak periods.

Required profile

• Previous experience working on a grill station in a restaurant environment.
• Familiarity with Portuguese or flame‑grilled cuisine is an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable and punctual.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Own transport or reliable means of getting to work.
