About the role

Cape Union Mart International is hiring an entry‑level retail associate for the festive season in Mbombela (Nelspruit). The role combines customer service, sales, and store upkeep, providing a valuable first‑hand experience in a busy retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers professionally, identify their needs and use appropriate selling techniques to drive sales.
• Work toward individual sales targets and spot opportunities to increase store revenue.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by delivering helpful and courteous service.
• Follow store procedures for stock loss control, ensuring merchandise is protected.
• Support housekeeping standards and keep the store clean and organised.
• Uphold visual merchandising guidelines to present products attractively.
• Identify sales opportunities during customer interactions and contribute to overall store performance.
• Promote a positive work environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate; 6 months retail experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• Matric or equivalent qualification is desirable.
• Clear criminal record and proficiency in English.
• Strong customer‑service focus with a friendly, helpful and confident demeanor.
• Ability to work toward individual sales targets and follow store procedures.
• Reliability, honesty and a willingness to learn and adapt.
