About the role
The client, a leading organization in North Johannesburg, is seeking a Facilities Supervisor to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of its premises. This role ensures that both internal and external environments are maintained to high standards, supporting a safe and efficient workplace for all staff.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise the groundsman, cleaners, and hospitality staff.
- Manage internal and external maintenance activities.
- Direct and control central services such as reception, security, building maintenance, and waste recycling.
- Oversee security procedures, including daily report checks and liaison with security officers.
- Maintain office key control and related equipment.
- Process internal quotes and invoices, and produce monthly spend reports.
- Handle call logging systems and daily service requests.
- Liaise with council on cleaning and compliance matters.
- Control stock levels for cleaning, refreshment, and other supplies.
- Manage risk registers and contribute to health and safety initiatives.
- Conduct end‑of‑day inspections of facilities and equipment.
- Support purchasing for staff catering and assist with space planning.
- Coordinate notice displays and ensure vehicle licensing and servicing are up to date.
Required profile
- Proven experience supervising junior staff and managing task allocation.
- Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
- Detail‑oriented approach with a proactive mindset.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Internet usage.
- Good Excel skills for reporting and data management.
