About the role
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Revenue to join the pre‑opening team of The Cape Town EDITION, a new luxury lifestyle hotel. This senior position will shape the commercial strategy from the ground up and drive profitability as the property prepares to open.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the overall revenue management strategy for rooms, groups, transient and ancillary revenue streams.
- Develop and implement pricing, distribution and inventory strategies aligned with market dynamics and brand positioning.
- Set up revenue systems, conduct demand forecasting and establish market positioning during the pre‑opening phase.
- Perform market analysis, competitor benchmarking and demand trend evaluations to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Finance to maximise total revenue performance.
- Design and optimise distribution channel strategies (OTA, direct, GDS, etc.) to maximise yield.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and KPI monitoring (RevPAR, ADR, occupancy) and take proactive actions to improve results.
- Build and mentor a high‑performing revenue team and foster a data‑driven culture.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience in revenue management within luxury or lifestyle hotels.
- Pre‑opening experience is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of the South African hospitality market is preferred.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Hospitality Management, Business, Finance or a related field.
