Cyber Security Engineer – Incident Response

As a Cyber Security Engineer specializing in Incident Response, you will identify vulnerabilities, monitor security events, and respond to incidents while leveraging threat intelligence to strengthen our security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct vulnerability research and analyse security threats.
• Perform risk assessments and report on security posture.
• Monitor systems and logs for suspicious activity.
• Respond to and mitigate security incidents and breaches.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across systems.
• Maintain incident records and improve response processes.
• Collaborate with IT/dev teams to embed security in systems.
• Collect and share threat intelligence across teams.
• Track attack patterns and support security improvements.
• Build threat dashboards for monitoring and reporting.

Required profile

• At least 5 years’ experience in Incident Response and Threat Mitigation.
• Experience with Active Directory, SQL, SharePoint, Windows and Red Hat environments.
• Exposure to Agile/DevOps environments.
• Relevant IT/Computer Science qualification (Grade12 and tertiary degree).
• Preferably banking or financial services experience.
