About the role
We are seeking a Cost Controller to join the pre‑opening team of a luxury hotel in Cape Town. The role will provide financial expertise to support the brand’s service strategy and ensure profitable operations from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse financial data and market trends to support strategic planning and budgeting.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, sales forecasts and wage forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, ensuring clear communication of goals and accountability.
- Maintain accurate profit and loss statements, oversee tax compliance and manage internal, external and regulatory audits.
- Develop and implement financial controls to mitigate business risks and improve profitability.
- Produce timely financial reports, presentations and dashboards for senior management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree (3‑year) in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in cost control, budgeting or financial analysis.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think creatively and solve problems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
