Commercial Manager

About the role

Ringway is seeking an ambitious Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function on the Kent County Council Highways Term Maintenance Contract. This high‑profile, long‑term role offers the chance to shape strategy, mentor a growing team and influence contract performance across sites, depots and offices.

Key responsibilities

• Overall commercial leadership of the Kent contract, including NEC3/NEC4 administration and governance.
• Commercial risk management, reporting and forecasting.
• Client relationship management and dispute avoidance.
• Valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Leading Early Warning and Compensation Event processes.
• Supporting delivery teams on operational and capital works.
• Developing, mentoring and managing the commercial team.

Required profile

• Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing QS ready to step into a Commercial Manager role.
• Degree‑qualified in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts, preferably term service contracts.
• Background in highways, infrastructure, civils or utilities.
• Collaborative commercial mindset with sound judgement.
• Comfortable working in office, depot and site environments.
• Natural leader with ambition for long‑term career growth.
