Baker's Assistant

About the role

The Baker's Assistant supports the bakery team in preparing, baking, and finishing a variety of bakery products in line with recipe specifications. This role is essential for maintaining product quality, hygiene standards, and delivering excellent service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain bakery equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Ensure housekeeping standards comply with the Pick n Pay Food Safety Standards Manual.
• Report any defective machinery or utensils to the manager promptly.
• Assist with daily production tasks, including ingredient preparation and product finishing.
• Serve customers courteously and address their inquiries.
• Prepare waste reports and manage wastage documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of backup storage areas.
• Carry out any reasonable assignments given by management.
