Audit Senior – Cape Town

About the role

Our client is a well‑established audit and accounting practice in Bellville, Cape Town, seeking a technically strong and detail‑oriented External Audit Senior. The role involves managing audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with standards, and supporting junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute external audit engagements from commencement to completion.
• Perform audit procedures in line with the approved methodology and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Prepare and review audit working papers, substantive and analytical procedures.
• Identify and assess audit risks, ensuring engagements meet regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation and review of annual financial statements.
• Supervise, review, and provide feedback to junior audit staff.
• Maintain accurate, well‑organised audit files and monitor progress to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Completed SAICA Articles (essential).
• Minimum 3 years of external audit experience.
• BCom Accounting or relevant Bachelor’s degree; Honours/CTA/Postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of external auditing and accounting principles.
• Good understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Experience with audit and accounting software (advantageous).
