Accounting Clerk – Woodmead, Gauteng

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our finance team in Woodmead, Gauteng. The role will support daily cashbook management, bank reconciliations, invoice processing and liaison with customers and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and process daily cashbook entries across multiple bank accounts.
• Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring final reconciliation is submitted by the 5th of each month.
• Manually process invoices and credit notes in line with company policies.
• Communicate with customers, submit documents, and send accurate monthly statements.
• Manage creditor reconciliations and ensure payments are submitted by the 19th of each month.
• Control debtor accounts, follow up outstanding balances and prepare inter‑company loan reconciliations.
• Conduct daily cash‑up verification and cycle counts for retail stores.
• Prepare purchase orders for non‑stock purchases and process supplier invoices.

Required profile

• Matric (mandatory) and a booking course or equivalent is an advantage.
• Minimum two years of experience in an accounting environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions from the Financial Manager.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pastel Evolution.
• Intermediate Excel skills for reconciliation tasks.
• Experience with cashbook handling.
• Hands‑on experience in debtor and creditor processing.
