Senior Salesforce Developer - Insurance Platform

About the role

Capitec Insurance is entering the South African insurance market with a platform covering Funeral Cover, Life Cover and Credit Insurance. It is looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer to own the platform that runs the full insurance lifecycle, from quote to claim, and to help build what comes next.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Salesforce architectural decisions across the Insurance platform
• Build and extend capabilities for policy lifecycle management, claims processing and client relationship management
• Design and implement integrations across policy administration, claims intake, adjudication and payment processing
• Build and maintain complex Apex logic, Lightning Web Components and Salesforce Flows
• Ensure the platform scales reliably as the business grows
• Mentor junior and intermediate developers and drive development standards and engineering best practices
• Evaluate and introduce new Salesforce capabilities

Required profile

• 6+ years of software development experience with meaningful Salesforce exposure
• Back-end experience in Java or a similar object-oriented language
• Track record of delivering complex Salesforce solutions end-to-end
• Experience in regulated or financial services environments is an advantage
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to engineers, architects and business stakeholders
• Minimum: Grade 12 National Certificate; preferred: a relevant tertiary qualification in IT
• Required certification: Salesforce Platform Developer I; preferred: Salesforce Platform Developer II, Administrator or Financial Services Cloud accreditation
• Clear criminal and credit record
