Rover Registered Nurse – Gauteng (Johannesburg)

About the role

The Rover Registered Nurse will provide high‑quality dialysis care across multiple sites in Gauteng, including Sandton, Melrose, Kloof and Witbank. The role involves travelling between hospitals to support acute, peritoneal dialysis (PD) and chronic dialysis units, ensuring patients receive safe and satisfactory treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily dialysis treatments, weighing patients and drawing blood prior to each session.
• Document patient observations hourly and verify patient satisfaction before discharge.
• Clean and sterilise dialysis machines after each use.
• Maintain accurate stock records on the Patient Control Sheet.
• Educate patients and relatives about kidney failure management.
• Collect and submit required statistical data promptly.
• Support colleagues and provide coverage for the unit as needed.
• Travel to hospitals for acute patient care and perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse or with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Graduate Clinical Technologist.
• Renal experience (essential).
• Nephrology coursework or a BHSc in Clinical Technology (Nephrology) is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
• Good health and physical fitness to perform duties.
