Outbound Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Outbound Team Leader to oversee daily outbound operations in a distribution centre. You will lead a high‑performing warehouse team, ensuring efficient picking, packing, replenishment and dispatch for both store and online fulfilment channels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and organise the outbound department team, monitoring productivity and performance.
• Support the Outbound Department Manager in driving operational excellence, quality and efficiency through proactive logistics analysis.
• Oversee retail store allocation, replenishment, online picking, packing, and shipping to meet customer expectations.
• Maintain cost‑efficient operations while adhering to client sustainability and health‑safety standards.
• Ensure optimal product availability, accurate picking and smooth workflow across all outbound processes.
• Identify operational risks, escalate issues promptly and assist in implementing corrective actions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric essential; logistics or supply‑chain qualification advantageous.
• Proven experience in a distribution centre or warehouse outbound environment, preferably retail, fashion, FMCG or e‑commerce.
• Previous team‑leader or supervisory experience with the ability to motivate and manage an outbound team.
• Strong knowledge of outbound processes including store replenishment, online picking, packing, dispatch and product flow.
• Experience managing productivity, service levels, compliance, cost performance and operational targets.
• Excellent problem‑solving, planning, coordination and communication skills.
