About the role

Opportunities exist for night‑duty Phlebotomy Technicians and Staff Nurses to join the team at the Carstenhof branch in Johannesburg. The role requires proven competence in phlebotomy, high ethical standards and alignment with PathCare values while providing essential laboratory and patient‑care services during night shifts.

Required profile

• Enrolled Nurse Certificate or Phlebotomy Technician qualification, registered with SANC/HPCSA
• Valid Code B driver’s licence (manual transmission)
• Client‑focused with excellent attention to detail
• Adaptable team player with initiative and problem‑solving ability
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion, empathy and stress resistance
• Result‑orientated with a positive, flexible work‑style
• Fluent in English with an understanding of Afrikaans
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Acceptable performance record for technical and behavioural competencies

Required skills

• Phlebotomy experience (order of draw)
• Pathology experience, including operation of Point‑of‑Care instruments such as Hemocue and Stratus
• Running arterial blood gas analyses on dedicated machines
• Computer literacy, preferably with Skylims
